Head and shoulder view of Shirley Jeffers

I came to the Feldenkrais Method following a car accident after suffering a chronic whiplash injury. I tried many conventional treatments and other therapies with minimal success and Feldenkrais allowed me to get my life back.

There is no competitive element or judgment in this methodYou are guided with verbal instructions to explore and discover what feels right for you. It is an integrated learning practice that can be carried over into everyday life to create lasting change.

Southampton Feldenkrais is suitable for people with Musculoskeletal problems, back pain, work-life stress, general well-being, and those who want to learn more about themselves. My interest in this field first led me to train in Pilates and later as a Feldenkrais Practitioner in The Feldenkrais Method which has become a lifelong learning process.

Many people treat the body and mind as separate parts, in the belief they do not work together. This has led to a disconnect between the mind and body. However, recent research has shown that the brain and nervous system work together to change our physical and mental health, they act as one system that can create long-term change.

The ethos of ‘no pain, no gain’ is outdated and a more holistic approach is the best way of working with the intelligence of the body. This is a learning system for the now and beyond. For more information or to book a class please call me on 07743484847 or email here.
